Math in Northridge, CA

Hi Mr. Stuart R., I live in Northridge and am currently attending CSUN. I am a computer science major. Math has not been my strong (actually weak) subject. I have pretty much just gotten by with "C"s in Calc I, II, and III. I am looking for someone who could tutor me in Math-482 (Combinatorial Algorithms) which uses the book "Introduction to Algorithms," http://tinyurl.com/IntroToAlgos and someone who next semester could assist me in getting through my Math-481A Numerical Analysis course. I am not quite sure how to explain the math involved in the 482 course other than to say, that I heard the math is similar to Math-481A except the asymptotic math is only monotonically increasing. The 482 course has a bunch of math proofs with which I am terrible. Also, it has a bunch of figuring out whether algorithms are O(n), o(n), little-omega(n), big-Omega(n), and Theta(n), for which in a couple of weeks I will have an exam, and have no idea what I am doing with them, what they really mean, or how to calculate them, except that they have something to do with limits and L'Hospital's rule from Calc II for which I wasn't very good the first time I did that work. I have no idea what I am doing. Do you know and can you tutor in the material with which I am going to need assistance? I am at CSUN M-TH 7:30am-7:00pm. I have all day Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays if necessary to fit in appointments. I also don't know if you do blocks of more than single hours at a time. I have been trying to find someone for quite a few weeks now, so as I fall behind, it seems time is of the essence for me. I really need to start right away. So, what do you think? Best Regards, Kevin Shapiro (email is reserved for tutor)
