English-listening in Ann Arbor, MI
Hello,
I'm from South Korea, 39-years old, male, and will be in Ann Arbor until Feb. 13, 2013.
If possible, I would like to proceed English learning with you in the way that I propose.
The most important thing is improving my listening to native speakers and understanding the meaning.
Of course, I know that the listening is tightly correlated with speaking and vocabulary.
However, I think that my difficulty of listening is originated from the intonation, pronunciation, and speed rather than the vocabulary.
As I propose, I would like to use all following ways with my tutor's kind assistance.
1. Listening to my tutor's talking about something until I understand the 90 % of meaning.
In most cases, my tutor should repeat to talk about the same thing. So sorry.
Then, after checking my understanding, hopefully, my tutor is gonna advise or comment why I cannot understand. (optional)
2. First, I talk about something. Then, second, my tutor talks about the same thing in different way, i.e., different and more natural expression, vocabulary, widely used idiom,
translation from the literay style to the spoken style, etc. I will focus on this way.
3. As I think, the dictation test is very efficient to me.
4. At any time, your comment and opinion on my learning would be very welcomed.
5. Tutoring fee is negotiatiable depending on in-detail conditions.
6. Our learning may be sometimes recorded for my review and practice.
=====================
preferable site: In or near U of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Sometimes any other convenient place.
preferable tutor's style: reliable each other, kind, enthusiastic, sometimes charismatic, fully understanding the difficulty of non-native speakers.
