"numerical Analysis" in Northridge, CA

Hi, Brian. Your profile looks impressive and I was hoping you might be able to help me in my unique situation as you went through the CSUN math curriculum. I want to first off humbly say that I consider myself an average math student, excelling in few math subjects and barely getting by in most others. A lot of how I can pass my math classes is by context of what we are doing. An example of this would be if I know the chapter is on derivatives or integrals I can figure it out after a few examples that are provided in the book. However this always only gives me a basic understanding of material and not a complete understanding as people who I see excel at the subject. The reason I'm telling you all this is basically I'm a CSUN student in the Computer Science major and because of this there is a lot of math required and I've made my way through most of the classes, however one of my last classes that I'm taking is entitled Numerical Analysis Math 481a. We just started on our first homework and the book is pretty high level and theoretical (it contains no examples on how to do the problems). We were assigned some homework and some of the problems look familiar but I have no context of how to do them. I basically need someone who can look at these problems and remind me on how to do them and hopefully re-teach some concepts that I am forgetting. In knowing this path this will enable me to study some old material I learned about 2 years ago that I haven't practiced since then. Here's a link to the book (Intro to Numerical Analysis 2nd edition by Hildebrand). On page 39 in the book are the problems we started with. I think the first one deals with linear algebra. (url available after purchase)?id=hqucruPBheQC&printsec=frontcover&source=gbs_ge_summary_r&cad=0#v=onepage&q&f=false Please let me know if you think you can help me with this tough subject in my specific unique situation. It's quite embarrassing for me to ask for help at a high level class like this, but again I was merely a compsci major and math has always been difficult for me.
