Mrs. Cohen, My name is D. B. and I was a student of yours back in 2002 at North Junior High School. Unfortunately, something happened that year and we did not have you as our instructor for the duration of the year. I do not know if you remember Mr. Robinson (or even me for that matter), but I asked him if he could ask around for your contact information because I wanted to write/call/email/ect to thank you. In the short time I had to learn from you I quickly learned to appreciate your teaching style and demeanor. I particularly enjoyed the portion of the class where we read The Adventures of Tom Sawyer- so much so that I would read ahead and talk with you about it after class. You gave me a personal copy of the book that I still have on my bookshelf. After my stellar career in the Newburgh Enlarged City School District (not so much), I attended The United States Military Academy and graduated/commissioned in 2012. I am currently a Captain and stationed down in Savannah, GA with 1st Ranger Battalion. I sincerely would like to thank you for the small amount of time we had in seventh grade English class. Words cannot describe the impact you made in that short period of time. I do hope to hear from you soon!
