Math in Cleveland, OH

Hi Marti, I will be in town this summer with my son (we currently live in Europe) and I would like to find a tutor to work with him during our visit. He's starting 3rd grade in September, he is 8yrs old. He has mild symptoms of SPD/Postural Stability, mostly sensory defensiveness, he is a perfectionist by nature and will resist challenging work. He could use help with handwriting, as his hands tire easily. I would like to work on Math and Reading Comprehension if possible, he is taking ESL classes through the Cambridge Program in school and his reading skills are definitely below a 2nd grade level. We currently have a tutor 4x's per week, but I would also like him to learn if study skills and working through homework, etc on his own whenever possible. I fear he has a "learned helplessness", currently he won't complete any school assignment without the help of his tutor, even when it's something he could easily do himself. He's lacking self confidence and has a self defeating attitude towards school work and test. We arrive next week, the 13th, if possible, I would like to start the following week. We'll be in town until the end of July, we'll be located in the Playhouse Theater District. the best way to communicate is via email until I arrive and can get local number.
