Is It Good to Be a Tutor?

Dear tutors, do you like your work? Students, how do you think, is it easy, interesting, good to be a tutor? Let`s talk about it!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Usually people think that tutoring is just a way to earn money, a source of income. This is true but it’s not just about money. Tutoring has many different advantages that differentiate it from other professions.

Firstly, age, gender and even education are not important in this profession. As long as your students show good result and you help them to achieve their goal – you are a great tutor. “It doesn’t matter what color the cat is; as long as it catches the mouse.”

Pupils, students, young mothers, the unemployed, the employed, pensioners – anyone can become a tutor, for example, by inviting students to his home or conduct lessons online.

Secondly, if you are a tutor then you have no bosses. You are the owner of yourself. You do not depend on anyone, but on the market.

If you do not like when you need to be present at work “24/7” like in most offices, the tutoring – a great way out. It will give you the freedom to choose time and place: it all depends on you and your students. With this you can vary your employment and income. Want to earn more – find more students to improve their skills.

Thirdly, children will always have problems with studying. School is for groups of children and tutoring is individual work. Somebody has enough skills to study at school and somebody needs to work 1-on-1 with a tutor. Therefore, a good tutor will always have enough work.

Fourthly, the longer a person works in the field of tutoring, the more he experiences, the more he becomes a professional. As a result, he/she becomes more and more popular and has more potential students. Experienced tutors are usually given a higher price for their lessons. Experienced tutors do not even have to worry about finding students.

Fifthly, the tutoring session provides a person excellent opportunities for personal growth and self-realization.

Becoming a tutor, you will not only study the subject (which is also important), but also learn how to structure the information, communicate effectively with people, speak properly, express thoughts, persuade, motivate people. Tutor can’t work without these skills. A tutor is training his/her memory and learning how to plan different activities, make tasks and solve problems.

Tutoring is very creative activity. Communicating with different students (adults or children) it not very easy – you develop self-control, self-discipline, patience, flexibility in communication, the ability to feel another person’s mood and adapt to it.
